I’m Yann Gabriel.
Friends call me Tooky. My roots are in Rivière-Pilote, in the south of Martinique. For more than twenty years, I worked in institutional client experience in Paris, London and Toronto, where the details always mattered. Today I bring that same standard of service home.
Rasin means roots in Kréyòl. I founded Maison Rasin because few North Americans know Martinique, and the Martinique I know is rarely the one visitors see. Beyond the beaches lives a rich and proud Afro-Caribbean culture, shaped by African, Indigenous Kalinago, European and Asian influences: the gastronomy, the rum, the arts, Carnival, and the island that gave the world Aimé Césaire and Frantz Fanon.
I also advise collectors of Caribbean art and work with a Caribbean music label. The artists, chefs and guides you’ll meet are people I know personally, each one carefully chosen.

Fondasyon: the founding journey

Our first journeys are deliberately small: a handful of guests, private rooms, and a host on the ground throughout. Each one is built around a moment in the island’s life, beginning with Carnival, lived in the streets alongside the people who make it.
Fondasyon guests travel as founding members of Maison Rasin. Dates, itinerary and terms are shared in conversation.
